Multi-award winning British rock band Radiohead will be performing in Berlin for a series of concerts in Germany.
Radiohead's The Smile Cancels European Concerts Due to Jonny Greenwood's Illness
British rock band Radiohead, renowned for hits like "Karma Police" and "Creep" in the 90s, is returning to Germany this year, as part of their tour schedule this year and winter. However, their project band The Smile, formed by Radiohead members in 2022, has had to cancel planned European concerts in July 2024 due to Jonny Greenwood's illness, which required intensive care.
The concerts, initially scheduled for locations such as Germany, Madrid, Bologna, London, and Copenhagen, will now have to be rescheduled. The Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin will host the concerts on December 8, 9, 11, and 12, with an additional 16 shows planned this winter in the same cities.
The Smile project, alongside Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, includes drummer Tom Skinner, a jazz drummer, as its third member. Fans eager to attend these concerts must register on the official band website to purchase tickets. Registrations for ticket purchases begin on September 5 at 11:00 AM CET and close after 72 hours following the start.
Drummer Philip Selway shared a message to fans regarding Radiohead's recent rehearsals, as the band rehearsed together last year for fun after a seven-year hiatus. No new information about Radiohead's concerts or ticket sales was provided in the latest update.
The Smile had to cancel their concerts, but Radiohead fans can still look forward to the upcoming shows this year and winter. Keep an eye on the official band website for updates on The Smile's current status and plans.
