Multi-unit dwelling in Böblingen engulfed by flames

On Monday at 11:15 AM, the Fire Department Böblingen responded to a residential fire in Furtwanger Straße, Diezenhalde district. Upon arrival, firefighters immediately began extinguishing the fire located on the second floor of a multi-family building.

The alarm level was raised to a level 3 fire, requiring additional resources. As a result, two fire engines from Fire Department Böblingen were deployed, with an additional fire engine from Holzgerlingen on standby. Approximately 60 firefighters, 15 emergency service personnel, DRK local association members, and two police patrol car crews were on the scene.

Fortunately, the people directly affected by the fire were able to leave the building independently, and no new injuries or casualties were reported following the fire. The affected apartment, however, was found to be currently uninhabitable after the fire and has been thoroughly ventilated.

Firefighters also checked adjacent and upper-floor apartments to ensure the safety of the surrounding area. No further information was provided about the cause of the fire.
