In a tragic incident on Monday, six people were shot dead and at least 20 others were injured in a shooting at Jerusalem's Ramot Junction. The attackers opened fire at people waiting at a bus depot.
According to reports, two suspects were shot and killed at the scene by an off-duty soldier and civilians who were present at the bus stop. The Israeli Police have arrested one suspect in connection with the shooting, with another suspect currently under investigation. The Israeli Police Spokesperson's unit made the announcement, confirming the arrest of a suspect from eastern Jerusalem.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, upon visiting the scene of the shooting, declared that Israel is engaged in a "fierce war against terrorism" on multiple fronts. He stated that Israel is pursuing and surrounding the villages from which the attackers of the Ramot Junction shooting originated. Netanyahu named Gaza, Lebanon, Hezbollah, and the Houthi terrorist regime of Iran as areas where Israel is fighting terrorism.
Netanyahu also mentioned that Israel intends to catch everyone who helped or sent the attackers. Israeli Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has imposed a full lockdown in parts of the West Bank following the shooting at Jerusalem's Ramot Junction.
