Multiple displays and shows celebrate National Day in Hanoi
Celebrating 80 Years of National Construction and Defense: A Cultural Extravaganza in Hanoi
In honour of Vietnam's 80th anniversary of national construction and defense, a series of captivating events are taking place in Hanoi. These events, designed to celebrate the nation's rich history and nurture pride, are open to the public from September 1 to 3, and will be held in various locations across the city.
One of the main attractions is the exhibition "Children of the Fatherland" at the National Fine Arts Museum, located at 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc street. This exhibition features 80 significant works by renowned modern Vietnamese painters, including Phan Ke, Nguyen Sang, Bui Xuan Phai, Diep Minh Chau, and Nguyen Sy Ngoc. The artwork pieces depict people who dedicated their youth to the country, expressing gratitude, emotions, and pride to the current generation.
Simultaneously, the Ho Chi Minh Museum is hosting a special exhibition titled Autumn of Independence, featuring more than 200 rare documents, photographs, and artefacts. Highlights include 17 large lacquer paintings by artist Chu Nhat Quang.
For those interested in Vietnam's cultural heritage, the National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism is hosting a month-long programme themed Celebrating the Independent Festival from August 30 to September 30. This programme features cultural activities of all 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam, including folk songs, dances, cuisine, and specialities from various ethnic groups. Highlights include the Nuong people's lion dance and the Thai ethnic group's new rice celebration.
In addition, the National Museum of History is organising the exhibition Mass Education - Lighting the Future, showcasing nearly 160 valuable items related to the nationwide literacy campaign in the early years of independence.
As part of these celebrations, museums under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, and the Contemporary Arts Theatre are participating. To make these events more accessible, they will welcome visitors free of charge from September 1 to 3.
These events aim to highlight national history, nurture pride, and promote patriotism, as they are part of a series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
