Multiple Events Mark European Mobility Week in Hürth City
The city of Hürth is inviting all its citizens to participate in a variety of events focused on sustainable mobility and traffic safety during the European Mobility Week. The Mobility Day will take place on 19 September in Hürth Park.
Kicking off the week, a bus training for seniors is scheduled for 10 am at the central bus station on Theresienhöhe. The city works Hürth, in cooperation with the regional transport Cologne, will be offering this training.
On the same day, primary school classes can participate in the traffic musical "Unbuckled" with the Theater Till. This playful and amusing show encourages more movement in daily school life and demonstrates correct behaviour in road traffic.
The European Mobility Week events in Hürth are financially supported by the European Commission as part of its campaign, with the German Environment Agency (UBA) acting as the coordination office in Germany. From 16 to 20 September, the Hürth city library will display a book table with media on the topics of mobility, sustainability, and climate protection. The bookstore Thalia will participate with selected theme tables matching the European Mobility Week.
A roll-over simulator by the traffic safety association Rhein-Erft will be available from 11 am. The district police Rhein-Erft will provide information about the dangers of driving under the influence of cannabis.
Mayor Dirk Breuer invites all citizens to attend and try out the offers. The city works Hürth and regional transport Cologne will inform about the sustainable mobility offers of public transport.
