Multiple events taking place in our city this coming Saturday (23.08.2025)

The charming town of Altenritte is gearing up for the much-anticipated Kuckucksfest, taking place on August 23 and 24, 2025. This festival is a significant part of the anniversary year "1250 years Rittahe", promising a varied program for all ages.

On Sunday, August 24, the festivities kick off with the Open-Air Creative Market on the town square from 10 am to 2 pm. A variety of local vendors will be showcasing their unique creations, including eluza & ylméa pottery, Deko-Lädchen, Gnähtes Glück, Frosch im Glück, Fili Handmade, KreativSari, Nicky ́s Kreativkiste, and Martina Stocker. These artisans will be offering handmade ceramics, decorative items for home and garden, tote bags, cosmetic bags, phone cases, wallets, neck pillows, macrame and knitted items, stone pictures, decoration and gifts with Keraflott and concrete, and jewelry, gifts, and accessories.

For those with a sweet tooth, coffee, cake, and fresh waffles will be available at 10:30 am, while Gulaschkanone serves hearty food for all at 12:00 pm. For the music lovers, the Music Band KSV-our city will perform at 11:30 am.

Meanwhile, on the sports front, KSV our city will host the Hessenliga promoted team FC Turabdin-Babylon on Saturday, August 23. The kick-off for the match is at 2:30 pm in the Park Stadium our city.

The traditional Kuckuckstaufe will take place at 8:00 pm on Saturday, August 23, and registration can be done by downloading the registration form (PDF). The log pulling contest registration is by 16:00 on Saturday, August 23 or via email: [email protected]. The log rolling competition is scheduled for 5:30 pm on Saturday, August 23.

For the little ones, a big children's bazaar is happening at 12:00 pm on Sunday, August 24, and the Children's Market setup will begin at 11:30 am. Kleines Glück-Handmade and Katis's Nähzauber will be exhibiting handmade children's clothing/accessories and baby and children's clothing, stuffed animals, utensil bags, totes, and backpacks, respectively.

To add to the festive atmosphere, DJ Tobbi will provide the music from 7:00 pm on Saturday, August 23. The Kuckucksgemeinschaft Altenritte e. V. warmly invites all members, families, neighbours, friends, and guests to the Kuckucksfest in Altenritte.

The stand fee for the Children's Market is 5 € per meter of table space. The festival church service will take place at 10:30 am on Sunday, August 24.
