Multitude of personnel and vehicles were deployed in the Dortmund region as part of the 'Fokus' operational plan.

The Dortmund police have been actively enforcing measures to enhance security feelings among the population and preventively combat crime and traffic offenses. Over the course of August 22 to 27, they conducted extensive checks on individuals and vehicles, resulting in a significant number of actions taken.

In total, 146 bans were issued during this period. One of the individuals was found to have violated spatial restrictions and was issued a ban, following the initiation of a criminal proceeding against them. Another individual was identified during person checks over the weekend, and upon investigation, sedatives were found, suggesting drug dealing.

On Tuesday (August 26), a 38-year-old was found with a unit of cocaine in the city garden, Stadtgarten-Anlage, prompting a corresponding investigation for illegal drug trafficking. Civil police officers also observed apparent drug dealing at the North exit of the main station.

During the checks, a drug-sniffing dog discovered and secured sedatives in a basement shaft. Meanwhile, during a check of a dealer, 15 units of marijuana and cash were secured.

Between 23:30 and 01:00, a checkpoint was set up on the outer wall, resulting in 39 warning fines and eight administrative offense proceedings. Around 250 vehicles from the 'Wall scene' were heavily frequented on Saturday evening at the Wallring.

The Dortmund police also inspected several kiosks in the North End and its surroundings on August 22-23. On Wednesday (August 27), a person carrying a knife was checked in the area of Café Kick, and a criminal proceeding was initiated for this individual.

A search for a person who carried a dose of cocaine in the Stadtgarten-Anlage on Thursday did not yield any results. A check for a knife-carrying ban according to the Dortmund knife concept is ongoing.

In total, 311 persons and 87 vehicles were checked by the Dortmund police during this period. Sixteen criminal charges were filed from August 22 to 27. The Dortmund police continue their efforts to maintain a safe and secure city for its residents.
