Mumbai's Wealthiest Ganesh Idol's Visarjan 2025: Devotees convened for the last procession, seen in the video.

In the heart of Mumbai, from August 27 to August 31, 2025, the GSB Seva Mandal hosted one of the city's most iconic Ganeshotsav celebrations. The festival, known for housing the "richest Ganpati of Mumbai," drew thousands of devotees who joined the grand procession, walking alongside the glittering idol and chanting "Ganpati Bappa Morya."

The GSB Seva Mandal's festival is deeply rooted in Goud Saraswat Brahmin traditions, featuring Vedic rituals, daily pujas, and cultural performances. The procession began at Tardeo's Vasantrao Naik Chowk and culminated at Girgaon Chowpatty, where the visarjan (immersion) took place by the morning of September 1, 2025.

The idol, adorned with a significant amount of precious metals—69 kg of gold and 336 kg of silver—was insured for a whopping Rs 474.46 crore. This insurance cover includes Rs 375 crore for accident insurance of priests, volunteers, and workers, ₹30 crore for public liability, and over Rs 67 crore for the idol's ornaments. The policy extends beyond material security, covering risks from fire, natural calamities, perils, and even digital assets.

Established in 1954, the GSB Seva Mandal is one of the most iconic Ganeshotsav celebrations in Mumbai. As the visarjan began late on the night of August 31, 2025, from King's Circle, Sion, the city bid farewell to the majestic idol, marking the end of another successful and grand celebration.

Meanwhile, in other news, the Sensex and Nifty soared, with IT and public sector bank stocks leading the rally amidst rising GDP. However, there is no new fact regarding the Sensex, Nifty, IT, public sector bank stocks, or the forecast of rainfall in Bengaluru or the ban on real money games.

In a separate development, Mobile Premier League is reportedly planning to lay off employees in India due to the ban on real money games. This decision comes as a blow to the gaming industry, which has been grappling with the aftermath of the ban.
