The Bundespolizeiinspektion Munich is preparing for a significant deployment of its officers during the 61st Munich Security Conference, taking place from February 14 to 16, 2025. The police force will be stationed at key locations across the city to ensure the smooth arrival and departure of all travelers, especially conference participants.

The Bundespolizeiinspektion Munich has offices in Munich Central Station, Munich Ostbahnhof, Pasing, and Freising. The main focus of the Federal Police deployment will be on the main, east, and Pasing stations, as well as the S-Bahn stations Karlsplatz (Stachus) and Marienplatz, and the S-Bahn Stammstrecke.

Approximately 250 officers from the Federal Police will be deployed in their own railway police jurisdiction during the conference. This deployment will also include personnel support from Federal Police departments in Deggendorf and Bayreuth, as well as several Bavarian inspections.

The head of the Federal Police Inspection Munich during the conference will be Tim Oberfrank. The police station in Munich Central Station is located immediately next to track 26, while the headquarters for non-operational areas, including the criminal investigation service, is located at Denisstraße 1, approximately 700 meters on foot from the main station.

The Bundespolizeiinspektion Munich's jurisdiction includes three of the four largest Bavarian stations and covers several neighboring districts. Its responsibilities include repelling threats to the railway and its users and intervening decisively where necessary, particularly in cases of criminal offenses and disturbances of public order.

Deployment of officers will start on Friday morning, with an additional 250 Federal Police officers, including service dog handlers and super-recognizers, being deployed during peak time on Saturday. The top priority for the Federal Police operations leader, Senior Police Director Steffen Quaas, is ensuring the smooth arrival and departure of all travelers.
