The Müritz-Klinikum in Robel has been officially recognized as a training center for "Psychotherapy for Adults" by the Ostdeutsche Psychotherapeutenkammer (OPK). This significant recognition, as stated in a press release from the Müritz-Klinikum, highlights the high professional competence of the clinic.

Chief Physician Dr. Thomas Broese expressed his satisfaction with the recognition, stating it underscores the clinic's commitment to promoting the professional development of young colleagues. The training at the Müritz-Klinikum is conducted in cooperation with the therapeutic team from various professional groups, incorporating practical learning formats, interdisciplinary case discussions, and the integration of current scientific findings into daily work.

The recognition allows the clinic to offer a structured and quality-assured three-year full-time training in adult psychotherapy to approved psychotherapists. This training is expected to strengthen the long-term care of mentally ill people.

Silvia Völtz, the head psychologist of the clinic, adds to the sentiment, expressing pleasure at the opportunity to train psychotherapists in the future. The recognition was the result of extensive preparation, and the Müritz-Klinikum is one of the first clinics in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and in Ostdeutschland to receive this recognition.

Meanwhile, the Therapiezentrum für Psychotherapie Rostock has been officially recognized by the East German Psychotherapists Chamber as the first training center for "Psychotherapy for Adults" in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and East Germany. The recognition takes effect on January 1, 2025.

This recognition marks a significant step forward in the provision of psychotherapy training in the region, with both the Müritz-Klinikum and the Therapiezentrum für Psychotherapie Rostock setting new standards for professional development and care in mental health. The press release did not mention any specific plans for expanding the training program beyond the initial three-year period, nor did it provide details on the number of psychotherapists expected to participate in the training at either clinic.
