"Music licensing platform Songtradr purchases creative agency MassiveMusic in a business transaction"
Songtradr, a leading B2B licensing company, has recently announced the acquisition of MassiveMusic, a global sonic branding company. This move marks Songtradr's sixth acquisition since 2019 and is expected to expand its services and capabilities in the music industry.
Founded by Hans Brouwer, MassiveMusic specializes in sonic branding, a practice that involves creating and using music and sound to reinforce a brand's identity. According to Brouwer, the new deal will not trigger a change in the operations of MassiveMusic.
The acquisition is viewed as a partnership by both Brouwer and Songtradr CEO, Paul Wiltshire. They see this as an opportunity for expansion as client demands increase. The acquisition is not expected to impact the staff or leadership of MassiveMusic, with Brouwer confirming that there will be no change in leadership at the company.
MassiveMusic's estimated 85-person staff will also remain unchanged following the acquisition. This assurance comes as Wiltshire takes over as the new CEO of Songtradr, following the acquisition.
In the past, Songtradr has acquired several companies, including licensing agency Big Sync Music, Song Zu, Cuesongs, Tunefind, and music streaming service Pretzel. The integration of MassiveMusic into Songtradr's operations has not been disclosed at this time.
Financial details of the acquisition have not been revealed. However, both Brouwer and Wiltshire are optimistic about the partnership and the opportunities it presents for growth in the future.
