The Krefeld Puppet Theater Festival "Budenzauber" is set to return for another edition in September, organised by Anke Zwering. This year's festival promises a captivating array of performances, appealing to audiences of all ages.

Kicking off the festival on September 13th is Nikolaus Habjan from Graz, a puppeteer, author, and performer. His complex drama, "F. Zawrel - Erbbiologisch und sozial minderwertig," tells the story of Friedrich Zawrel, a person defamed as "genetically inferior" during the Nazi era and who ended up as a petty criminal on the streets after the war. The performance lasts 120 minutes and is suitable for adults and young people aged 16 and above.

On September 14th, Cipolla from Bremen will present "The Fall of the House of Usher," a literary adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's short story. The eerie performance lasts 70 minutes.

Lukas Schneider's puppet theater from Stuttgart is performing "Scaena Corpus" on September 21st. This thought-provoking play discusses beauty ideals and self-perception and is suitable for young people aged 14 and above. It lasts 45 minutes.

Anke Zwering particularly enjoys working with the Krefeld puppet stage "Blaues Haus" in Huls. Two productions will be shown there instead of at the Fabrik Heeder: "The Berlin City Musicians" by Theater Zitadelle Berlin on September 26th, and "The Yark" from Theater im Bergmannkiez, suitable for children aged 10 and above.

"The Yark" is a children's play about a monster, performed by Theater im Bergmannkiez. The puppet theater in Krefeld is based on interaction between human and puppet on stage.

Waiting in Godow, a play by Theater Koblenz, will be performed on September 19th. It explores the refugee and integration theme in a humorous way.

Advance ticket sales for the Krefeld Puppet Theater Festival begin on August 21st at 10 AM. Tickets can be purchased by phone (02151/864848) or by email at www.krefeld.de/kartenreservierung. Ticket prices are 14 euros (reduced 7.50 euros).

It's worth noting that the Krefeld Puppet Theater is not a marionette theater or children's entertainment. The plays performed in the festival are artistically high-quality, often sold out, and suitable for a wide range of ages. Ordered tickets will be held at the box office. All performances start at 8 PM.

Anke Zwering admits having great respect for the puppet theater, and the latest edition of the festival is set to be another memorable event for the city of Krefeld. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to experience the captivating world of puppetry!
