Absolutely not possible or impossible to achieve. - 'Negative Outcome': Söder's Rejection of Proposed Desert Vacation Holidays
In a recent development, the Minister-President of Bavaria, Markus Söder (CSU), and his counterpart in North Rhine-Westphalia, Hendrik Wüst (CDU), have found themselves at odds over proposed changes to school holiday dates.
Hendrik Wüst, the Minister-President of North Rhine-Westphalia, put forth a proposal for new school holiday dates, but his suggestion was met with firm rejection from Markus Söder. Söder, who is known for his steadfast stance, responded with a clear "No chance" and "No way."
The elections for city and municipal councils, district assemblies, mayors, and county councils in North Rhine-Westphalia are scheduled to take place on September 14, and it seems that the issue of school holiday dates may become a significant point of contention. The Education Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, Dorothee Feller (CDU), has demanded a change in the summer holiday regulation in July.
Interestingly, Söder and Wüst recently appeared together in Bocholt, West Münsterland, on Hendrik Wüst's invitation. However, their amicable gathering did not lead to a change of heart from Söder, as he maintained that the holidays in Bavaria will not be altered. Söder stated that Bavaria has its own holiday rhythm deeply ingrained in its culture.
Meanwhile, Markus Söder attended a CDU campaign event in Bocholt, West Münsterland, demonstrating his continued involvement in political activities. The elections in North Rhine-Westphalia are expected to be closely contested, with 396 cities and communities and 31 districts participating.
Winfried Kretschmann, the Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg, also made a statement regarding the new holiday dates, although his involvement in the ongoing debate remains to be seen. As the election day approaches, the issue of school holiday dates is likely to remain a hot topic of discussion.
