Netanyahu declares seizure of Gaza and initiates fresh peace talks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced the approval of a plan to occupy Gaza's largest city and evacuate its population in the south, during a visit to soldiers stationed in the Gaza Strip. The announcement was made in the midst of the ongoing Gaza War.

The security consultation to approve the occupation plans involved Defense Minister Israel Katz and military officials. Netanyahu also ordered the immediate negotiations for the release of all hostages, with at least 20 believed to be alive, during his visit.

In a related development, Hamas has given a positive response to a new ceasefire proposal. The proposal, an adjusted version of a previously negotiated plan by US special envoy Steve Witkoff, includes a 60-day ceasefire during which ten living hostages would be released in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.

The new ceasefire proposal is being worked on by international mediators - the US, Qatar, and Egypt - to resume negotiations. However, the proposal does not yet have an official response from Israel.

Netanyahu has hinted at new negotiations for a ceasefire with Hamas, presumably suspended prior to this announcement. The Islamic terrorist organization Hamas announced its response to the ceasefire proposal on Monday.

The location of the announcement was Tel Aviv/Gaza. It is worth noting that the objectives of occupying Gaza and achieving victory over Hamas, as well as the release of hostages and the end of the war under acceptable conditions for Israel, are interconnected, according to Netanyahu.

The war in question is the Gaza War, a conflict that has been ongoing for some time now. The details of the occupation plan and the exact conditions for the ceasefire are yet to be disclosed. This is a developing story and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
