In the heart of Worcester, Massachusetts, a stand-out was held on Friday, September 223, organised by the Holy Cross College Democrats and the "Committee to Re-elect Dan Donahue." The event, which took place on the corner of Cambridge and Southbridge Streets, aimed to support Dan Donahue '09, a 2009 Holy Cross alumnus and the current State Representative for Worcester.

Meanwhile, in the world of entertainment, the Avatar franchise is expanding. Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino, creators of the beloved animated series "Avatar: The Last Airbender," have established Avatar Studios. This production company is dedicated to expanding the Avatar universe through additional animated movies and series. However, their departure from the Netflix project was announced due to creative differences.

In the wake of this, Albert Kim, a television writer and the showrunner who developed Netflix's live-action adaptation of "Avatar: The Last Airbender," stepped up. Kim led the first season, which premiered on February 22, 2024, but stepped down as showrunner after season 1, remaining an executive producer. Kim stated that the adaptation will be tailored to appeal to fans of "Game of Thrones," aiming to attract the massive audience of the popular series.

However, Netflix's "Avatar" is not seen as the show that will achieve the cultural phenomenon status of "Game of Thrones." The original animated series, famous for its all-ages appeal, will see certain plot detours trimmed down in the live-action adaptation, according to Kim. Aang, the protagonist of the original series, revolves around overcoming the desire to ignore his quest, which may be compromised by the trimming of detours.

Back at Holy Cross College, Will Donahue '24, the Chief Copy Editor and Opinions Editor, had his photo taken by Charlotte Fallon '26 and Mara Galvin '24. Donahue, who majors in English, is a copy editor at a college. His former classmate, Dan Donahue '09, was the focus of the stand-out held in support of his re-election campaign.

The live-action "Avatar" series is set to be released in two weeks, promising an exciting addition to the Avatar universe. As for Holy Cross College, the community continues to support its alumni, while the world of entertainment eagerly awaits the next chapter in the Avatar saga.
