Rockin' the Nevada Gaming Scene: Mike Dreitzer Takes the Helm
Nevada Gaming Control Board appoints Mike Dreitzer as its new chairman
Nevada's gaming landscape is getting a shake-up! Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo has officially selected Mike Dreitzer as the new head honcho for the Gaming Control Board, effective after the legislative session wraps up in June.
Dreitzer, a seasoned gaming veteran, currently reigns as the CEO of Gaming Arts LLC, a powerhouse in the gaming-equipment world boasting over 150 gaming licenses under its belt. In Governor Lombardo's official announcement, Dreitzer was lauded for his impending resignation from the company and his subsequent offer to provide a smooth transition period before diving into his new role. He'll be replacing outgoing chairperson, Kirk Hendrick, who called it quits earlier this year[2][3].
In May, Merkur Gaming, acquirer of Gaming Arts' interests, is slated for a hearing before the Gaming Control Board. This coincides perfectly with Dreitzer's rise to power[1].
Lombardo expressed his excitement about Dreitzer's appointment, lauding his extensive background in gaming compliance and wealth of gaming-industry experience. Lombardo thinks Dreitzer's a perfect fit to steer the Nevada Gaming Control Board with integrity and honor, invigorating its recent streak of innovation[1].
Dreitzer said he feels genuinely honored by the appointment and thanked Lombardo for trusting him to continue the mission of the Board, support its dedicated agents and staff, and uphold the highest-caliber gaming regulations for Nevada[2].
Lombardo voiced his gratitude towards Hendrick for his notable service to the Board, highlighting that under his leadership, the three-member Board eliminated unnecessary red tape and made outstanding progress with gaming modernization and innovation in Nevada[1].
Hendrick, for his part, expressed his deep appreciation towards Lombardo for the chance to lead the Nevada Gaming Control Board. He looks forward to achieving more milestones for Nevada before his departure in June. Despite stepping down, Hendrick anticipates a seamless transition with Dreitzer, whom he has known for close to 30 years[3]. That's some robust, long-lasting gaming camaraderie, right?!
