Mercedes-Benz Australia has expanded its local G-Class line-up with the introduction of the new G 450 d. This diesel-powered variant, responding to customer demand, brings a new dimension of refined capability to the line-up.

The G 450 d is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features. PRE-SAFE®, Blind Spot Assist, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist, and a Driving Assistance Package are standard. For an additional layer of security, GUARD 360° Vehicle Protection Plus is available.

Standard appointments for the G 450 d include 18-inch black alloy wheels, MULTIBEAM LED headlights, and underbody protection. Inside, the cabin offers walnut wood trim, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, sunroof, smartphone integration, twin rear USB ports, the latest MBUX infotainment system with augmented reality navigation, digital radio, and dual 12.3-inch displays.

The G 450 d is powered by a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel engine with an integrated starter-generator and 48-volt electrical system. It produces 270 kW of power and 750 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.

For those seeking more style and comfort, the G 450 d offers various packages. The MANUFAKTUR Exterior Package, priced at $4100 MRLP, enhances the vehicle's exterior. The Interior Comfort Package, costing $8500, includes a heated steering wheel and rear-seat entertainment. The AMG Luxury Package, priced at $18,000, adds 20-inch AMG wheels, AMG styling elements, and premium interior trims. A Professional Exterior Package, available for $15,900, focuses on a more rugged, off-road specification.

The G 450 d retains the traditional ladder-frame platform, three differential locks, LOW RANGE off-road gearing, independent front suspension, and a rigid rear axle. It boasts impressive off-road capabilities, with 241 mm ground clearance, a 700 mm wading depth, and the ability to handle side slopes up to 35 degrees.

The G 450 d will be priced from $214,900 MRLP, excluding on-road costs. It features the iconic angular silhouette and rear-mounted spare wheel, enhanced by Professional Line exterior trim. The manufacturer of the G 450 d is Mercedes-Benz Australia, a subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz AG, responsible for supplying this diesel-powered variant of the G-Class lineup, including AMG models.

The G 450 d will be available from authorized Mercedes-Benz retailers across Australia from September 3, 2025. This new addition to the G-Class line-up offers more choice within the iconic range, providing customers with a refined yet capable diesel-powered option.
