New Regional Product Association to Launch in Regensburg

The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy is supporting the launch of a new regional product association in Regensburg, set to commence from 1st June 2024 and run until 31st May 2027. This association aims to unite production, processing, trade, gastronomy, and consumers for exchange, collaboration, and joint actions.

The association's structure and statutes have been developed from previous workshops, with the project team working closely with spokeswomen Doris Luttner and Anna Ramsauer in developing the initial proposals. Central topics discussed in a recent meeting included the content design of the statutes, the planned association structure with an honorary board and thematically specific working groups.

Many actors have already expressed their willingness to actively engage in the association. The official founding of the association is scheduled for autumn 2025.

The goal of the association is to raise awareness of the high quality and diversity of regional products. To achieve this, the association's efforts involve marketing and valuing regional products throughout the entire value chain. Joint events, public relations, and new formats for presenting regional delicacies are planned.

The project also benefits from the regional management funding and the "Big Kitchen! Regional.Bio.Regensburg" project, which opens up new sales channels for smaller businesses and niche products through innovative approaches.

Registration for participation is available at www.landkreis-regensburg.de/Regionalmanagement. For any inquiries, please email [email protected].

Intensive work on structure, statutes, public relations, and financing will be done in thematically specific working groups in August. The search results do not provide specific information about the additional individuals or organizations involved in founding the new association of regional products in Regensburg nor details on who has expressed interest in actively engaging with the emerging association. However, it is clear that this project will bring significant benefits to the region and its local economy.
