New Business Venture: Chubby Cattle Debuts in Cerritos Despite Ongoing Salmonella-Tainted Egg Recall

In a series of recent developments, food safety concerns have been at the forefront, with several product recalls and a new business opening making headlines.

Firstly, a Salmonella outbreak has been linked to eggs distributed by Country Eggs, LLC. Consumers are advised not to eat the recalled eggs, which were sold under the brand names Nagatoshi Produce, Misuho, and Nijiya Markets, and are marked with code CA 7695 and sell-by dates between July 1 and September 18, 2025. The recall affects eggs sold in cartons and bulk packs to stores and food distributors in California and Nevada.

Meanwhile, more than 95 illnesses have been reported across 14 states due to this Salmonella outbreak. No specific information about other companies excluded alongside Country Eggs, LLC or the specific products affected by the Salmonella outbreak in the U.S. was found in the search results. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, along with state and federal agencies, is investigating the outbreak.

For those who believe they have become ill after eating the recalled eggs, they can file a report at redcap.link/foodcomplaint.

In a separate incident, Ferrero Canada Ltd. announced the expanded recall of more than a dozen new Kinder products due to an outbreak of Salmonella infections that has sickened 150 children in Canada. However, it's important to note that this recall is not related to the Salmonella outbreak linked to Country Eggs, LLC.

On a positive note, the yakiniku chain, Chubby Cattle, is opening in Cerritos' 183rd Plaza in Spring 2025. The restaurant serves all-you-can-eat grilled wagyu beef at three pricing tiers ranging from $55 to $85. On August 28, 2025, Chubby Cattle is preparing a new location in Cerritos.

Lastly, Organic Traditions branded sprouted flax seed powder and sprouted chia powder products are being recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination. This recall is not related to the Salmonella outbreak linked to Country Eggs, LLC or the Salmonella outbreak in 2014 that sickened more than 80 people.

As always, it's crucial to prioritise food safety and follow the advice of health authorities during these times. Consumers are encouraged to check for recalls and follow guidelines to ensure their well-being.
