New citizens were warmly welcomed at the Kreishaus citizenship ceremony, with a total of 46 Indviduals being honored as official German citizens.

The Herford District held a naturalization ceremony on Thursday, welcoming 46 new citizens from 17 different countries. District Administrator Jürgen Müller personally presented the naturalization certificates to the new citizens, marking a significant moment in their lives.

The new citizens have been living in Germany and the Herford District for several years, contributing to the enrichment of the society and peaceful coexistence. The youngest new citizen is just 10 years old, while the oldest is 62.

In his speech, District Administrator Jürgen Müller described naturalization as a symbolic, important, and personal moment. He emphasised that the new citizens are not just signing papers but officially becoming part of the community with a sense of duty and heart.

The new citizens now have the right to participate in all aspects of German society, including voting and choosing their employment. They also have the freedom of religion and opinion, education, and can travel visa-free to many countries as German citizens.

Jürgen Müller reminded the new citizens that they now have the same rights as all German citizens, including freedom of opinion and religion, education, free choice of employment, the right to vote, and visa-free travel to many countries. However, he also emphasised the responsibility of the new citizens to respect the laws and actively engage in society and democratic processes.

The ceremony was musically accompanied by Jens Kosmiky, and it was also attended by families, friends, and companions of the new citizens, as well as representatives from the administration and local politics. The ceremony was a significant event for the families and friends of the new citizens, who were proud to witness this important moment in their loved ones' lives.

The naturalization ceremonies have been held monthly in the Herford District since the beginning of the year, and the district continues to welcome new citizens from around the world. The new citizens are expected to respect the laws and actively engage in society and democratic processes as part of their duties as German citizens. The Herford District is proud to welcome these new citizens and looks forward to their continued contributions to the community.
