New collaboration between UnionBank and SSS leads to introduction of a combined ID and debit card, dubbed the MySSS Card.

The Social Security System (SSS) and UnionBank of the Philippines have joined forces to develop the MySSS Card, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at expanding financial services to over 40 million Filipinos.

According to Ana Aboitiz Delgado, President and CEO of UnionBank, the MySSS Card will allow SSS members with a Philsys ID to access government services more efficiently and conveniently. The card, which serves as an official SSS-recognised ID, also functions as a UnionBank-powered Visa debit card, providing SSS members with a secure and convenient way to receive benefits, loans, and refunds directly into an associated UnionBank savings account.

Robert Joseph M. De Claro, President and CEO of SSS, shared that this partnership makes government services more accessible and efficient for SSS members. The MySSS Card is a 2-in-1 solution that combines an SSS-issued functional ID with a UnionBank-powered Visa debit card.

The MySSS Card is not just a new step in the partnership between SSS and UnionBank, but a continuation of a successful card partnership that has issued hundreds of thousands of cards since 2022. This initiative is a shared goal between the two entities to broaden access to financial services, particularly for the unbanked.

While the official release date for the MySSS Card has not been announced yet, it is set to revolutionise the way SSS members manage their finances. Members will be able to apply for the card through the UnionBank Online app, ensuring a seamless and digital application process.

The MySSS Card is expected to empower SSS members with greater control over their financial affairs, providing them with a secure and convenient way to receive their benefits. This partnership between SSS and UnionBank aims to enhance financial inclusion by making financial services more accessible, ultimately benefiting millions of Filipinos.
