In a significant move, Edge Autonomy, a leading company in the drone industry, is expanding its operations in Latvia. The Prime Minister of Latvia, Evika Siliņa, has announced that the country is becoming a drone hub, with Edge Autonomy playing a pivotal role in this development.

Edge Autonomy, under the leadership of CEO Steve Adlich, has been present in Latvia for over 15 years, valuing the highly skilled technical workforce the country offers. Currently, the company employs 270 people in Latvia, a number that is set to increase in the near future.

The Prime Minister's statement did not disclose the exact amount of investment in the new Edge Autonomy production facility, but it did express a commitment to protecting Latvia with the most modern solutions, including drones. The new facility, expected to be completed in 2026, will cover approximately 10,800 m2, almost doubling the space of the previous facilities.

The government of Latvia is also investing and will continue to invest in drone infrastructure. This move is part of an effort to create an environment where developers can collaborate with the armed forces, border guards, and police to create competitive products.

The strategically important location of Latvia for Edge Autonomy is not a new development. The company has a long-standing partnership with Latvia, and Latvia is considered a key location for Edge Autonomy's operations. The Prime Minister believes that modern warfare is unimaginable without drones, and the expansion of companies like Edge Autonomy in Latvia is a testament to this belief.

The Prime Minister is pleased with the expansion of companies like Edge Autonomy in Latvia, and the company looks forward to continued growth in Latvia and the region. Edge Autonomy is committed to continuing its cooperation in Latvia and the European Union, further strengthening its ties with the country.

With the new production facility, Edge Autonomy is set to contribute more significantly to Latvia's growing drone industry, positioning the country as a key player in the global drone market. The company's expansion in Latvia is a significant step forward in the country's ambition to become a drone hub.
