New Elevated Rail Platform Installed at Gustav-Stresemann-Ring
In the heart of Wiesbaden, the bustling Gustav-Stresemann-Ring is currently undergoing significant repairs and rebuilding. A burst water pipe on the road has caused subsidence and new damage, leading to traffic disruptions and an uncertain duration for the work.
Soil testing is being conducted to assess the extent of the damage, while an important water supply line is being renewed in parallel. The leak in the water pipe has been sealed, thanks to the efforts of ESWE Supply and an unnamed construction company. The repair work took place on the night of August 8/9.
Investigations have revealed additional damage due to the pipe burst, necessitating the replacement of both the base and surface layer of the road. Construction work is progressing at a feverish pace, with everyone working diligently on the pipes and the road surface.
The exact duration of the repairs remains uncertain, but it is expected that one lane on Gustav-Stresemann-Ring will be driveable again by September 1. The construction time for the repair and rebuilding of the entire road is expected to be significantly extended due to the extensive damage.
As the work continues, Wiesbaden residents and commuters are asked to exercise patience and plan their routes accordingly. The city is working hard to ensure that the repairs are completed as quickly and efficiently as possible, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
