New fleet of VolgaBus vehicles set to debut in Yakutsk

Yakutsk, the capital city of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), is set to enhance its public transport system with the arrival of 174 modern VolgaBus buses. This update is part of the state program "Development of the Transport Complex of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)".

The new buses, like their predecessors, use compressed natural gas (CNG) as fuel, meeting modern environmental standards. This eco-friendly choice aligns with the city's commitment to sustainability and preserving the pristine northern environment.

The acquisition agreement was signed by the first deputy head of Yakutsk, Vladimir Dorozhkin, in Moscow. The initiative was spearheaded by Yakutsk City Head Evgeny Grigoryev, who directed the acquisition of 50 modern VolgaBus 5270GH buses.

Since 2022, the city administration, in collaboration with Evgeny Grigoryev and Vladimir Dorozhkin, has pursued the delivery of 124 modern VolgaBus buses to improve public transport in Yakutsk and the Sakha Republic regions. This initiative aims to enhance transport capacity, increase comfort, and better connectivity by 2024.

All of these new buses will operate on city routes in Yakutsk. To ensure they function well in northern conditions, they are being adapted with features such as double glazing and additional salon heaters. These buses have already proven their efficiency in harsh climates through successful testing.

The delivery of these new buses is a continuation of the initiative started by Evgeny Grigoryev and Vladimir Dorozhkin, who signed the agreement for the acquisition of 50 modern VolgaBus buses in Moscow. From 2022 to 2024, an additional 124 VolgaBus buses have been delivered to the capital and regions of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The Yakutsk City Administration continues to invest in improving public transportation. The new buses are designed for 65 passengers, with 27 seating places, promising a comfortable journey for all. This upgrade is not just about numbers; it's about ensuring passenger comfort and safety in harsh climates, reducing travel intervals, and improving transportation quality.

This public transport update is also aligned with strategic tasks for developing urban infrastructure in the region, making Yakutsk a more livable and connected city for its residents.
