New police station leader appointed
Esther Arnold-Strunz, a seasoned police officer with over two decades of service, is set to take over as the new Police Commissioner at the Datteln police station on May 1st. This announcement was made by the Polizeipräsidium Recklinghausen, as reported by news aktuell.
Arnold-Strunz, who is currently the watch leader at the police station in Castrop-Rauxel, will make history as the first woman to lead a large deployment station in the area of the Recklinghausen police headquarters. She previously served at Datteln in various roles, including duty group leader and head of the district and focus service, before becoming the commissioner in 2020.
Arnold-Strunz is returning to Datteln, having expressed a heartfelt wish to succeed EPHK Hans-Peter Posch, who is retiring. Police President Friederike Zurhausen commented that Arnold-Strunz has already proven herself in Castrop-Rauxel.
In her new role, Arnold-Strunz looks forward to good cooperation with local actors and the city administration in Datteln. She is a mother of two children and, in her free time, enjoys skiing, riding horses, and spending time in her garden.
Arnold-Strunz has been in the police service since 1994 and has been serving at the Recklinghausen police headquarters since 2003, with only brief interruptions. Press inquiries can be directed to Hendrik Matena at the telephone number 02361 55 1044 or via email at [email protected].
