New recruits at Gießen Customs affirm their duties as part of HZA-GI's young workforce.
The Customs Service is offering a unique opportunity for individuals seeking a career in a large federal administration. On September 1, 2025, 1,700 individuals will begin studies or training at the Customs Office, with 39 of these starting at the Main Customs Office Gießen.
The dual course of study for the higher service lasts three years and concludes with the academic degree "Bachelor of Laws" (LL.B.; Customs). The practical phases are spent at various areas of the Main Customs Office Gießen and its larger locations. The theoretical parts for the higher service are completed at the Federal Administration Academy in Münster.
For those interested in the middle service, a two-year training program is available to become a tax administrator. The practical phases for both the middle and higher service are spent at various areas of the Main Customs Office Gießen and its larger locations.
The swearing-in ceremony for the new recruits will take place in the Stadtverordneten-Saal of the Gießen town hall. Uta Ruge, head of the Main Customs Office Gießen, and Anne Biermas will welcome the new recruits.
