New recruits join the Bonn Police force, totaling 109 officers in the German city-state
Bonn Police Welcome 160 New Police Commissioner Trainees
The Bonn Police, one of the ten training authorities of the police in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), has welcomed 160 new police commissioner trainees to its ranks.
On Monday morning, Klaus Zimmermann, Deputy Police President and Senior Criminal Director, extended a warm welcome to the new recruits during a ceremony at the police headquarters in Bonn.
The 160 trainees are embarking on a dual study at the police in NRW. Among them, 108 are police officers, and one is an administrative official. Notably, 88 of the officers recently completed their studies at the University of Applied Sciences.
20 officers were transferred to the Bonn Police Presidency from other police authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia, while 20 more joined the force directly. These new employees began their practical training on September 1, 2025.
Klaus Zimmermann expressed his pleasure at the new recruits joining the Bonn Police Presidency, stating that they are a group of young women and men who are eager to serve and protect their community.
