New Virtual Production Facility Opens in Dallas

A new virtual production facility has been unveiled in Dallas, Texas, by technology integrator Optic8 and production studio Trilogy Studios. The state-of-the-art studio, which specialises in immersive experiences, virtual production systems, and LED volumes, promises to revolutionise the industry with its cutting-edge technology.

At the heart of the facility are Absen's PR series LED panels, which have been carefully integrated with Brompton's processors to create a flawless production environment. The PR series panels, showcased in the Dallas facility, are designed to meet the demands of high-performance virtual production.

The facility boasts a total pixel processing capability of 324 million pixels, thanks to the 32 Brompton Tessera SX40 processors. These processors, created to be the industry's gold standard for virtual production, offer a wide array of features and customization options suitable for any type of project in the Dallas studio.

Dan Kretz, founder of Optic8, has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of Absen's LED panels in the Dallas facility. He highlighted Trilogy Studios' impressed with the ease of use, customization capabilities, color accuracy, and multicamera virtual production capabilities of Brompton Technology's equipment.

Neil Morrison, vice president of rental and staging for AbsenLive, expressed pride in Absen's PR series panels being a part of the Dallas facility. The facility features Absen's PR2.5 panels for the backdrop, PR5.2 for the ceiling, and PR2.5 for the side walls. The commercial stage in the Dallas facility uses 75 square meters of PR1.9 Absen LED panels for the backdrop and 54 square meters of PR2.5 panels for the ceiling. The car process stage, on the other hand, features 152 square meters of PR1.9 Absen LED panels for the backdrop and 45 square meters of PR2.5 panels overhead.

Webster Moyle, Brompton technical sales manager, expressed his excitement about the use of Brompton processing in the new Dallas virtual production studio. Trilogy Studios has also expressed their excitement about going with Brompton Technology for their Dallas stages.

Optic8's team travels worldwide to assist with various projects, including film, commercials, corporate applications, and immersive installations. The company, along with Trilogy Studios, is planning further expansion and is considering several cities in North America as potential sites for new virtual production facilities next year. Cities under consideration include Atlanta, Vancouver, Austin, and Montreal.

The Dallas facility includes three advanced production stages: a main cinematic volume, a specialized car process stage, and a smaller stage for commercials and music videos. The facility supports a total pixel processing capability of 324 million pixels with 32 Brompton Tessera SX40 processors.

With its cutting-edge technology and seamless integration of Absen's PR series panels with Brompton's processors, the new virtual production facility in Dallas is set to redefine the industry and offer filmmakers and producers a unique and immersive experience.
