Newcomers embark on their professional journeys at the educational institution
Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is welcoming a new batch of trainees and volunteers, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for these young individuals.
Maali Saad and Luna-Noelle Koenen are among the new trainees, starting their training as a digitalization manager and administrative assistant respectively. Joining them are Tim Kolodzej, training as an IT specialist for system integration, and a technical product designer whose name was not specified.
Katrin Bongertmann, head of training at Rhine-Waal University, warmly welcomed the new trainees and volunteers. She emphasized the importance of the university's training program, highlighting its high quality and attractive nature. Bongertmann also mentioned that the new trainees are already an asset to the university, providing fresh impulses, specialist knowledge, and more diversity.
The onboarding days provided the new recruits with a phase of familiarization with university life. This includes a tour of the facilities, meetings with key staff, and an introduction to the university's values and mission.
In addition to the trainees, 14 young people are currently undergoing vocational training or a Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) at Rhine-Waal University. Kaja Könemann, Celina Bieler, and Luis Goedeke, among others, are completing their FÖJ in the Green FabLab and the Tropical House of the university.
Interested parties can apply for the training roles, starting August 2026, or the Voluntary Ecological Year at the Tropical House and Green FabLab. Applications for the Voluntary Ecological Year can be submitted at hsrw.info/vey.
Nicole Burke, the Chancellor's representative, also expressed her pleasure about the new trainees and highlighted the importance of practical and high-quality training. She reiterated the university's commitment to accompanying young, committed people successfully into their professional lives.
Bongertmann further stated that the university's trainees will be the specialists of tomorrow, especially in times of skills shortages. She expressed her confidence in the future design options and career prospects for the trainees.
As the new trainees and volunteers embark on their journey at Rhine-Waal University, they bring with them a wealth of potential, ready to contribute to the university's mission and make a difference in their respective fields.
