Jürgen von Massenbach-Bardt Appointed as President of Konstanz Police Headquarters

Jürgen Freiherr von Massenbach-Bardt, a seasoned veteran in the Interior and Police sectors, has been appointed as the new President of the Konstanz Police Headquarters. The announcement was made recently, with an effective date set for July 28, 2025.

Von Massenbach-Bardt's career in the police force spans over three decades. He joined the force in 1985 and has held several top positions within the Baden-Württemberg State Police. His impressive journey includes serving as the head of the Institute for Training at the Police Academy, the head of the Deployment Department and deputy head at the Böblingen Police Directorate, and the head of the Institute for Further Education at the Baden-Württemberg Police Academy.

In 2005, he became a lecturer in Deployment Sciences at the Baden-Württemberg Police Academy, and in 2012, he led the Project Office in the sub-project "Baden-Württemberg Police Academy" as part of the Police Reform Project. From 2014 to 2023, he served as the head of Presidential Staff and deputy head of the Academy as President of Education at the Baden-Württemberg Police Academy, and most recently, he held the position of vice-president of the Academy.

Before his appointment as president of the Konstanz Police Headquarters, von Massenbach-Bardt has also served as an advisor in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior, first in Department 32 and later in Department 33 for Training and Further Education.

Thomas Blenke, the State Secretary, expressed his pleasure about the appointment, praising von Massenbach-Bardt's extensive experience and commitment to the police force. Uwe Stürmer, the outgoing Police President of the Konstanz Police Headquarters, has done outstanding work and is thanked for his commitment. Stürmer, who temporarily took over the leadership of the Konstanz Police Headquarters, can now fully focus on his tasks at the Ravensburg Police Headquarters.

As the President of the Konstanz Police Headquarters, von Massenbach-Bardt will be responsible for managing around 1,500 employees. His appointment is a testament to his dedication and service to the police force over the years, and the faith placed in him to continue leading and serving the community effectively.
