In a ceremony held at the University of Applied Sciences for Technology and Economics of the Saarland (htw saar) on July 3, 2025, Minister Christine Streichert-Clivot presented certificates to 60 individuals who completed courses in early childhood education and language, diversity sensitivity, and intercultural education.

Minister Streichert-Clivot highlighted the importance of a well-qualified workforce in early childhood education, emphasizing that today's kindergartens are inclusive institutions that recognise and foster each child in their individual life reality. She commended the role of htw saar in bridging the gap between science and practice with its innovative programs.

The "Language, Diversity Sensitivity, and Intercultural Education" program, funded by the Ministry of Education, aims to promote the linguistic development of children and appreciate cultural diversity. Over 200 participants have completed this program so far. The goal is to make it available to all kindergarten professionals in Saarland.

The "Early Childhood Education" adaptation course targets pedagogical professionals from Germany and abroad. Over 120 individuals have completed this course to date. The course provides scientifically based knowledge and strengthens practical skills for daily kindergarten life.

Prof. Dr. Charis Förster, course leader at the htw saar, states that the certificates contribute to the quality development of early childhood education. The htw saar emphasises the importance of the connection between theory and practice in early childhood education.

International professionals with academic degrees are funded through the INAQUA project by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The exact name of the leader at HTW Saar for these courses cannot be confirmed from the available information. However, Ralf Haas, the head of the Bildungszentrum Kirkel, and Yvonne Fegert, deputy head of the pedagogical area at the Arbeitskammer Saarland, are associated with educational work.

Minister Streichert-Clivot praised the development of early childhood education facilities over the past decades. She reiterated that the graduates' qualifications would play a crucial role in shaping the future of early childhood education in Saarland. The certificates mark a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to build a skilled workforce offensive in early childhood education.
