NFL Betting Predictions: Week 1 Showdown Between Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are gearing up for a new chapter in the 2025 season, with Brian Schottenheimer taking over as head coach. One of the key additions to the team this summer is wide receiver George Pickens, who is eager to make an impact.

Pickens, who had 59 receptions for 900 yards in the 2024 season, has already signed with the Cowboys. Dak Prescott, the Cowboys' quarterback, is looking forward to establishing a connection with the new wide receiver. However, Pickens only scored three touchdowns in the 2024 season, a statistic that the Cowboys will be hoping to improve.

The Cowboys have struggled to stop the run in recent years, and this was evident in their two losses to the Philadelphia Eagles last season. The Eagles ended the 2024 season with a 14-3 record, including a Super Bowl victory, and are the reigning champions.

In a bid to strengthen their defence, the Cowboys traded star edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. This move has left a significant gap that the team will need to fill if they are to compete with the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Saquon Barkley, the Eagles' running back, had a stellar 2024 season, rushing for 2,005 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry and featured in 11 out of 17 regular-season appearances, rushing 19 times or more in 11 of those games.

As the 2025 season begins on Thursday night at Lincoln Financial Field, residents outside of Ontario in Canada have the opportunity to bet on the game. The Cowboys have launched in Canada, allowing all residents to sign up and bet on the outcome. By betting $10 at odds of +100, residents can get triple their returns up to $300.

George Pickens' receiving line for Week 1 has been set at 53.5 yards, and Prescott is expected to turn to Pickens often. Interestingly, Pickens surpassed his Week 1 receiving line of 53.5 eight times in the 2024 season.

The Cowboys and Eagles will be meeting again, and the Cowboys will be hoping for a different outcome this time around. The Eagles have the upper hand, but with the addition of Pickens and the determination of Prescott, the Cowboys could surprise many. The stage is set for an exciting season opener.
