NFT Purchasers on Polygon See Increase, Outpacing Solana in Terms of US Dollar Sales
In the dynamic world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), Polygon has been making waves since the beginning of June. The network has seen a significant surge in NFT activity, making it the most active chain in this sector.
One of the standout collections on Polygon is Poker Girl, which has generated nearly $2 million in sales over the last week. Launched alongside Moon Girl in June, Poker Girl comprises 10,000 NFTs and ranks third in sales, following Moon Girl and Liberty Cats.
Moon Girl, another new collection, consists of 14,000 items representing images of rebel girls. Over the last seven days, the Moon Girl collection on Polygon has generated over $5 million in sales, up an impressive 510% from the previous week.
The rise of Moon Girl and Poker Girl on Polygon has contributed to the platform's overall success. Weekly NFT sales on Polygon surged 30% to $20.2 million, excluding data associated with wash trading. On June 7, NFT sales on Polygon reached their highest level since mid-January 2024, surpassing $3.4 million.
However, the NFT market has not been immune to the effects of the crypto winter, following the collapse of UST (and LUNA), FTX, and other major crypto platforms. DappRadar recorded a decrease in Polygon NFT sales over the week, down 16% from the previous week, totalling $18.2 million.
Despite this, Polygon has managed to outperform its competitor, Solana, in NFT sales over the last week, ranking third on CryptoSlam. Bitcoin, on the other hand, has taken the top spot in NFT sales due to an increase in Ordinals volumes, with $48.7 million in sales.
Bitcoin Ordinals have become popular in the NFT market, popularizing the concept of on-chain, censorship-resistant NFTs. The rise of Bitcoin Ordinals has had a significant influence on the NFT market in 2023.
As for the creators behind the success of the new NFT project Moon Girl on the Polygon platform, no specific information is currently available.
The daily number of unique buyers of Polygon-based NFTs hit a record high on June 9 at 45,200. With the continued success of collections like Moon Girl and Poker Girl, it seems that Polygon's NFT market is here to stay.
