Nine schools are now operational in the Almaty region following their inauguration on Constitution Day.
In the vibrant Almaty region, a wave of educational transformation is underway. Over the past few years, a significant number of new schools have been built, providing a modern and stimulating learning environment for thousands of students.
The journey began before the start of the 2022 academic year with the "Road to School" campaign, offering support to 60,948 children from socially vulnerable backgrounds. This initiative marked the beginning of a brighter future for these children.
Fast forward to 2025, and the region now boasts 491 schools, a testament to the commitment to quality education. From 2022 to 2025, a total of 43 schools with a capacity of 43,525 places were constructed, a substantial increase from the previous years.
The new educational complexes, equipped with modern facilities such as robotics classrooms, libraries, sports halls, and auditoriums, have significantly reduced the load in densely populated areas and created more comfortable conditions for the education of thousands of children.
In 2024, nine schools were put into operation in the region, including a new school in the village of Tonkeris, Taldykorgan district, offering 600 places. Eight more schools were opened on Constitution Day, with cities like Almaty city, Talgar, Tekeli, and Kapchagay set to expand their educational infrastructure under the "School of the Future" national project.
Two schools were also opened in the Enbekshikazakh district: one in the village of Almaly for 600 places and one in the village of Karajota for 300 places. Plans are underway to complete the construction of two more schools in the villages of Ashysai and Satai, and a new educational complex is being built in the village of Tole bi under the state funding program.
The Akim of the Almaty region, Marat Sultanbayev, has been a driving force behind these initiatives. He visited the center for children with special educational needs in Konaev and emphasized the importance of creating conditions for the full development and social adaptation of such children.
A total of 2.8 billion tenge was allocated from the "All-Encompassing Education" fund for this purpose. Each child received assistance in the amount of 46,228 tenge, which is 2.5 times more than three years ago. This increased support has made a tangible difference in the lives of many children, enabling them to pursue their education with greater ease.
As the new academic year begins, these new schools will welcome over 362,000 students, including more than 35,500 who are starting school for the first time. The future of education in the Almaty region is looking brighter than ever.
