In the early hours of August 24, 2025, a traffic accident occurred at the construction site on Wilhelm-Heinichen-Ring in Celle. The incident, which took place around 1:30 AM, involved a 36-year-old Nissan driver who, for unknown reasons, veered off the road, mounted a curb, and collided head-on with a streetlight.

The driver entered a closed-off construction site at the intersection of Wilhelm Heinichen-Ring / Hannoversche Heerstraße, causing significant damage to the vehicle, estimated at around 12,000 euros. The vehicle is no longer roadworthy.

The woman driver was slightly injured in the accident. The extent of the damage to the streetlight is still unknown.

The police in Celle are currently investigating this suspected hit-and-run incident. Investigations into the exact cause of the traffic accident are ongoing.
