Nordhorn extends invitations to its partner cities for the Cultural Festival

In honor of the 20th Festival of Cultures, Nordhorn welcomed visits from its five partner cities: Coevorden (Netherlands), Montivilliers (France), Reichenbach (Saxony), Malbork (Poland), and Rieti (Italy).

Nordhorn extends invitations to its partner cities for the Cultural Festival

The 20th Festival of Cultures in the picturesque town of Nordhorn, Germany, was a grand occasion that brought together delegations from various European cities. This significant event served as a platform for establishing and strengthening connections with partner cities, making it a milestone in Nordhorn's cultural calendar.

Organised by the municipal partnership committee and the associated support association, the Festival of Cultures was designed to introduce partner cities to the event and promote citizen exchange. Five partner cities, Coevorden (Netherlands), Montivilliers (France), Reichenbach (Saxony), Malbork (Poland), and Rieti (Italy), visited Nordhorn for the occasion. Each partner city sent a delegation, and the aim of the Festival was to showcase their unique cultures and potential representation at future Festivals of Cultures.

During the Festival, Nordhorner economic promoters and city building director Thimo Weitemeier held talks with specialist colleagues from the partner cities. These discussions focused on city building talks, with Çanakkale, Angers, and Tver being among the partner cities involved. The round birthday of the Festival of Cultures was held at the Kloster Frenswegen in Nordhorn, providing a serene backdrop for these important discussions.

Apart from the Festival of Cultures, the guests also attended the Canal Festival in Nordhorn. The parallel water city weekend offered opportunities for cross-border contact and relaxation. Guests were invited to explore the Canal Festival by canoe, providing a unique way to experience the town's waterways.

The weekend ended with a farewell dinner by the Vechtesee before the guests departed for home. Many new contacts were established during the Festival of Cultures in Nordhorn, and existing connections between Nordhorn and its partner cities were strengthened. At the action stand, the members presented delicacies from the partner cities, offering a taste of their unique cultures.
