A Day of Discovery at the Puppet Theater Pantao: A Celebration of Nature, Education, and Fun

The Puppet Theater Pantao in Düsseldorf was the scene of a vibrant and educational event last weekend, attracting visitors of all ages. The day was filled with a variety of activities, workshops, and demonstrations, all aimed at promoting nature conservation, education, and fun.

The event kicked off with the stilt figures of the Tree Spirit, Forest Elf, and Birch Fairy from the Puppet Theater, setting the tone for a day immersed in the wonders of nature.

The Garden, Cemetery, and Forestry Office presented its training professions, giving attendees a glimpse into the world of horticulture and forestry. Compost advisors from Awista GmbH provided practical tips on setting up a composting area in the garden, promoting sustainable living and waste management.

Visitors had the opportunity to observe owls, eagles, and falcons at the falconers from the Rhine Forest Pedagogical Center. The sight of these majestic birds of prey soaring through the sky was a breathtaking spectacle.

Greenpeace, NABU, NAJU, Düsseldorf Waldkindergarten e. V., and BUND showcased engaging activities and games around environmental and nature conservation. The "WWW - Wald Wiese Wasser" area provided a place for play and craft activities, encouraging children to learn about the importance of preserving our forests, meadows, and waterways.

The permanent exhibition of the old forest school offered a 3D dia viewer, a sensory path, and a grab box for children to interact with, providing hands-on learning experiences. Beekeepers shared interesting facts about the bee colony, sparking curiosity about these essential pollinators.

The Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum offered fascinating insights into the underwater world, while employees of the municipal forestry department discussed the care, protection, and preservation of the Düsseldorf City Forest.

The Sauerland Mountain Association presented a hiking trail around Düsseldorf, inspiring visitors to explore the great outdoors. Nature and forest educators, the Biological Station Haus Bürgel, and the Düsseldorf and Mettmann Hunting Association e. V. shared insights into their work, educating the public about the importance of conservation and responsible use of our natural resources.

The Support Circle Industrial Path Düsseldorf-Gerresheim offered activities for little archaeologists, including making clay bricks and digging for treasures in the sand. A new large research pond is being constructed by the municipal training company "Garden and Landscape Construction" near the new forest school, providing a valuable resource for future environmental studies.

Professional face painters transformed children's faces into butterflies, lions, or cats, adding a touch of magic to the day. Giant soap bubbles and a bouncy castle were available for children to play on, ensuring a fun-filled day for all.

A nature rally through the Wildpark was available for families and friends to explore together, while a giant snail was set up for children to play on. The Friends of the Wildpark Düsseldorf e. V. presented their projects, highlighting the efforts being made to preserve and protect this valuable green space in the heart of the city.
