Officer detained the culprit
In the early hours of July 10, 2025, a caravan theft took place on Timmersholt Street in Sprockhövel. The owner of the caravan discovered the theft via his mobile phone, as he noticed his caravan was moving from its parking spot.
The Ennepe-Ruhr District Police launched a search operation, involving the use of a helicopter and a police dog. The caravan was eventually located on Kleinbeck Street, attached to a VW car with stolen Bottrop license plates.
The police's efforts paid off when they found the caravan. With information provided by the owner, they were able to locate the stolen vehicle. The arrested suspect, a 50-year-old man from Sprockhövel, was found in nearby bushes and taken to Hattingen police station.
Despite the arrest, one suspect remains at large. The Ennepe-Ruhr District Police are continuing their investigation, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Police Headquarters.
