Oktoberfest: Munich Taxi Sector Joins 'Women and Girls for Safe Wiesn' Campaign
Oktoberfest, the world's largest beer festival, is underway in Munich. To ensure safety and respect, the Munich taxi sector has joined the 'Women and Girls for Safe Wiesn' campaign. The initiative, led by IsarFunk taxi center, provides support services and free taxi vouchers for women and girls in need.
The campaign's support center, Safe Space, is situated within the Oktoberfest area. Here, women and girls can seek help if they've lost their wallets, been victims of theft, or face other difficulties. Over 300 individuals have benefited from these services in previous years.
IsarFunk, a longstanding partner of the campaign, has been promoting safety and protection for women and girls during Oktoberfest for over two decades. The taxi center, established in 1998, operates in Munich and has been a contractual partner of Flughafen München GmbH since 2003. In recent years, it has participated in the 'Sichere Wiesn für Mädchen und Frauen' initiative to foster a respectful festival environment and prevent harassment.
The 'Women and Girls for Safe Wiesn' campaign, supported by IsarFunk and the Munich taxi sector, is committed to ensuring a secure Oktoberfest experience for all attendees. Free taxi vouchers are available for those in difficult situations, providing a safe ride home.
