After a five-year hiatus from live tournaments, Olivier Busquet, a New York native, has made a triumphant return to the poker scene, winning the prestigious Borgata Summer Poker Open Championship.

Busquet's journey to victory began with a 12th-place finish in a WSOP event earlier this year, and culminated in a thrilling final table at the Borgata. The tournament, which surpassed its $1 million guarantee with a prize pool of $1,644,000, saw Busquet battle it out against some of the best players in the game.

The final table was a nail-biting affair, with Ryan Dodd, Jeremy Flieder, Gerard Brady, Sridhar Sangannagari, Abe Gordon, and Matthew Beinner all vying for the top spot. However, it was Busquet who emerged victorious, earning himself $255,135 in first-place prize money.

Busquet's experience in poker tournaments, honed over nearly two decades, proved invaluable as he navigated the various types of fields at the final table. His win was a testament to his skill and resilience, as he outlasted his opponents to claim the title.

The runner-up spot went to Abe Gordon, who earned $233,255. Matthew Beinner finished in third place, losing an all-in to Gordon. Beinner, who qualified for the tournament from a $250 satellite on BetMGM Poker, took home $138,076 for his efforts.

Farid Jattin finished in fifth place, earning $63,339, while Sridhar Sangannagari finished in fourth place, losing an all-in to Beinner. Gerard Brady and Jeremy Flieder exited during the first frame of play at the final table.

Busquet's victory marks a significant comeback for the poker veteran, who has over $9 million in career live earnings. He credited his family for their support and inspiration, expressing his gratitude for their unwavering encouragement.

The Borgata Summer Poker Open Championship was just one of many prominent tournaments Busquet has played in over the years. Before his win, he had competed in various online poker tournaments on platforms such as PokerStars, WSOP Online events, and other major online poker series.

As Busquet continues to make waves in the poker world, fans and players alike will be eagerly awaiting his next move. His return to live tournaments has proven to be a successful one, and it seems that his best days in poker are still ahead of him.
