In a recent development, two Polish citizens, aged 34 and 37, were arrested by the Federal Police in Krauschwitz and near Görlitz. The arrests took place during temporarily reinstated border controls.
The arrest warrant for the 37-year-old was not related to unpaid fines, contrary to initial reports. Instead, it was issued by the Dresden Public Prosecutor's Office eight days ago, and the charges are not clear at this moment. However, the 34-year-old had two outstanding warrants, one from the Public Prosecutor's Office in Görlitz for an unpaid fine of 1,200.00 euros, and one from the Public Prosecutor's Office in Cottbus for an unpaid fine of 1,800.00 euros.
After settling his debts, the 37-year-old was allowed to continue his journey. The arrest of the 37-year-old did not take place in Krauschwitz or Görlitz, contrary to some initial reports.
