Online availability of the Autumn-Winter curriculum for the Youth Training Center
The University City of Giessen is set to offer an extensive online Autumn-Winter program, with over 56 events aimed at providing young people with a variety of opportunities. The Youth Education Institute, a recognized provider of educational leave, is spearheading this initiative.
The program, which will be available from August 18, 2025, at www.jbw-our website, includes a mix of proven offerings and new activities. Young trainees, workers, students, and other interested parties up to the age of 26 can look forward to events such as football seminars, pottery, self-assertion for girls and boys, 3D printing, top rope climbing, screen printing, studio recording, and the municipal election 2026.
One of the highlights of the program is the 3rd Giessen Youth Congress, which aims to provide a platform for young people to discuss and share ideas on current topics. The program also features the information events "TikTok and Anti-Semitism" and "Music on TikTok", both part of the event series "Remember, warn, be vigilant". This series, which includes the city walk "Historical everyday traces of Jews and Jews in Giessen" and the reading "The boy with the mouth harmonica: From the ghetto Theresienstadt by train to freedom", aims to educate and raise awareness about important historical and social issues.
Further training in addiction and violence prevention, sexual education, democracy promotion, and flip chart presentations can also be found in the program. For employees and volunteers in children and youth work, there are new and proven further training and information events available.
City Councilor Frau Weigel-Greilich emphasizes that all offers enable young people to broaden their horizons and gain new experiences. "We want to provide opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and have a good time together," she said.
Notable additions to the program include the three-day further training course titled "City Bound - Experiential Pedagogy in the City" and the educational leave "Make it happen instead of talking! - Green City Copenhagen", which offers young people the opportunity to explore Copenhagen.
All offers in the program are free of charge.
