Online participation encouraged for Hüsten parking discussions - City facilitates digital public engagement on parking issues
The city of Arnsberg has announced a comprehensive parking study and online survey in the Husten district, aiming to improve parking management and create a more convenient parking experience for residents, guests, and local employees.
The study, which will run from September 9 to September 11 and again after the Husten fair, will focus on three key areas: the Husten district centre, around the Arnsberg Clinic, and at the NASS leisure pool. During this period, on-site counts will be taken to determine how heavily the existing parking spaces are used.
In addition to the on-site counts, an online survey has been launched for citizens to share their experiences and ideas about the parking situation in the Husten district. The interactive idea map for the online survey can be found on the website: https://mobigator.de/arnsberg/. The online survey will be available from September 22 to October 20, 2025.
The city plans to implement clearer parking regulations, enhance signage, increase enforcement, and explore options for additional parking spaces based on citizen feedback from the survey. The Hilden office "StadtVerkehr" will be responsible for evaluating the results of the parking study and the online participation.
First results from the evaluation are expected by the end of 2025. The city aims to identify areas for improvement and measures to benefit all members of the community in the Husten district.
After the Husten fair, the counts will be repeated at the same locations to compare the parking situation before and after the Riggenweide (fairground) closure. The online survey provides citizens with the opportunity to share their personal experiences and suggestions for improvement.
The city of Arnsberg encourages all residents and visitors to participate in the online survey and contribute to the improvement of parking management in the Husten district. By working together, we can create a more pleasant and efficient parking experience for everyone.
