Operations Surge in Bocholt: 57 Rescue and Fire Services Over 24 Hours Demonstrate Urgent Need for Reinforcement
The Fire Department of Bocholt, under the leadership of Dirk Arping, has demonstrated its commitment to helping those in need, even in situations that fall outside their jurisdiction.
Recently, the department received an unusual phone call from a man in Bocholt, expressing concern for his wife in the Nuremberg area. The Fire Department, while not typically handling emergency calls outside of their jurisdiction, took the call seriously and forwarded it to the appropriate authorities.
This forwarding of the emergency call to the responsible control center in Nuremberg helped the woman receive quick assistance. The department's actions reflect their dedication to helping those in need, regardless of location.
In a series of incidents related to carbon monoxide alarms, the Fire Department of Bocholt showed its proactive approach to emergency situations. The alarms, presumably caused by malfunctions in heating systems that could not properly vent exhaust gases due to the summer heat, were triggered three times in apartments within their jurisdiction.
In all cases, the affected areas were controlled and ventilated. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in any of the carbon monoxide incidents.
On Tuesday, the Fire Department of Bocholt responded to a total of 57 incidents. The majority of these incidents involved the rescue service. Among these, there were two traffic accidents, each requiring the deployment of a rescue helicopter. The injured persons from these accidents were flown to specialized clinics after on-site medical treatment.
Despite not responding to any on-site incidents related to the carbon monoxide alarms or the phone call from the man in Bocholt, the Fire Department of Bocholt's operations remain an integral part of the community. Their contact information is as follows:
