Over 28,000 applicants are vying for the 3,118 available positions as Civil Guard officers.
The Civil Guard is currently conducting its recruitment process for new agents, with over 27,000 individuals competing for 3,118 positions this Saturday. Among the candidates, one in three holds a university degree, with 980 possessing a master's degree and 15 boasting a doctorate.
The average age of the candidates is 27 years, and the minimum requirements to participate include being between 18 and 40 years old, having Spanish nationality, not having a criminal record, and having at least a secondary education diploma.
The selection process consists of four stages: theoretical and psychotechnical knowledge tests, physical tests, a personal interview, and a medical examination. Candidates who pass the physical tests will be subjected to a personal interview to evaluate their psychological suitability for the job they are applying for.
Successful candidates will undergo an academic course at the Academies of Baeza and the Duke of Ahumada Guardians' College in Valdemoro for their professional training. The course will conclude with 40 weeks of practice in units of the Corps.
The venues for the tests are located in 20 cities across Spain, including Alicante, Ávila, Baeza, Cáceres, Cádiz, Gijón, Granada, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, León, Logroño, Madrid, Málaga, Mérida, Murcia, Palma de Mallorca, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Seville, Valencia, Vigo, and Zaragoza.
However, no new information has been provided about the criteria for selecting candidates for the positions offered, or the current status of salary equality with the police, which were mentioned earlier. The Civil Guard has not specified any changes in this regard after over 30 years of struggle.
Unfortunately, the recruitment process has been temporarily halted due to an issue with incorrect labeling of boxes containing exams. The Civil Guard has not yet provided further details on the resolution of this matter.
It is worth noting that 8,936 women are presenting themselves for the Civil Guard positions this year, which corresponds to 32.36% of the total number of candidates. The teachers who instruct the candidates during the academic course at the Academies of Baeza and the Duke of Ahumada Guardians' College in Valdemoro are typically experienced officers and specialized instructors appointed by the Spanish Civil Guard, covering subjects like law, criminology, physical training, and security procedures.
The theoretical knowledge and psychotechnical tests for the Civil Guard positions will be held simultaneously in 20 venues located in twelve autonomous communities. Candidates who obtain sufficient scores in the knowledge test will be called for the physical tests, which include a coordination and agility circuit, a 2-kilometer run, a strength test, and a 50-meter swimming test.
As the recruitment process continues, the Civil Guard remains committed to finding the most suitable candidates for its ranks, while the ongoing struggle for salary equality with the police continues to be a significant issue.
