On September 14, 20XX, the Hanseatic city of Lübeck will join the nationwide celebration of the Day of Open Monuments. This annual event, organised by the German Foundation for Monument Protection since 1993, aims to draw attention to the material and historical value of Germany's rich architectural heritage.

Lübeck's offerings for the day include a diverse range of historical buildings and structures, such as medieval town churches, historic bourgeois houses, and former warehouses. Among the attractions is a reform school from the late 1920s, complete with its own planetarium. The building of the district and regional court on Burgfeld, constructed between 1957 and 1962, is another monument open to the public.

The Day of Open Monuments in Lübeck will feature over three dozen program points, some of which require registration. The theme for this year's event is "Worthwhile: priceless or irreplaceable?", encouraging visitors to reflect on the significance and worth of each monument.

The Maritim Strandhotel in Travemünde, built in the early 1970s, will also be open to visitors as part of the Day of Open Monuments. The responsible institutions for organising the event in Lübeck are yet to be named, but the Hanseatic city of Lübeck has announced these details.

The Day of Open Monuments is a unique opportunity for the public to explore and appreciate the city's architectural treasures. Mark your calendars for September 14, 20XX, and join in the celebration of Germany's rich cultural heritage.
