Over two hundred and thirty thousand individuals paid a visit to the Issyah Toymaad in the current year.
In the heart of Siberia, the city of Yakutsk played host to the most attended national holiday in Russia – Ысыах Туимаады – on June 29 and 30. According to the city's mayor, Yevgeniy Grigoryev, the two-day celebration saw an overwhelming turnout of over 230,000 people.
The Sakha (Yakut) people were the most frequent attendees, flocking to the festivities in their traditional attire and eager to celebrate their rich cultural heritage. The city's vibrant atmosphere was further enhanced by the many visitors who came from across Russia to partake in the celebrations.
The Üs Khatyng area, a popular destination during the holiday, was bustling with energy as people enjoyed traditional Yakutian games, music, and dance performances. The holiday was also held on the Telegram platform, as announced by the mayor via his Telegram channel.
Looking ahead, Ысыах Туимаады-2024 is set to be a significant event, dedicated to the Year of the Family in Russia, the Year of the Child in Yakutia, and the hosting of the international "Children of Asia" games. These themes reflect a strong emphasis on family values, children's wellbeing, and cultural exchange.
While no information was provided about the attendance of social media platforms such as VKontakte, Classmates, WhatsApp, or Twitter, it is clear that Ысыах Туимаады continues to be a cherished and well-attended national holiday, bringing people together to celebrate their shared cultural heritage.
