Overheard conversation between Putin and Xi: Breakthrough in organ transplants discussed, with Putin remarking, "One could potentially achieve immortality."

In a historic event, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin engaged in a conversation about organ transplants and the possibility of humans living up to 150 years, during a military parade in Beijing commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.

The conversation, which took place in front of over 50,000 spectators, also included North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, it was not clear if the conversation was being translated for Kim Jong-un.

Putin confirmed that the discussion about organ transplants and extended human lifespan occurred on Wednesday. In response, Xi said, "Some predict that humans could live up to 150 years this century." Putin further stated that modern medical advancements could allow for an active life to continue in a different way than it does today, in reference to organ replacement.

During the conversation, Putin's translator was heard saying, "Biotechnology is continually developing" and "human organs can be transplanted continuously. The longer you live, the younger you become, and you can even achieve immortality." However, there are no specific mentions in the search results about a company or researchers group related to the development of technology to extend human lifespan discussed by Putin and Xi.

The leaders also agreed to build a major gas pipeline, but did not announce key details about funding or the price of the gas to be sent to China. Putin and Xi signed over 20 agreements on various topics, including energy and artificial intelligence.

The discussion between Putin and Xi was broadcast live by state-owned CCTV and CGTN. China's radio and television administration reported that CCTV's coverage of the event was viewed 1.9 billion times online and more than 400 million times on television. Putin attended a summit organized by Beijing, which gathered more than 20 leaders of non-Western countries.

Despite the conversation being in Russian, Putin's speech during the discussion was not clearly audible on the CCTV recording. The event marked a significant step in the ongoing relationship between China and Russia, with both leaders expressing their commitment to strengthening their alliance.
