The seventh season of the internationally successful series "Brokenwood - Murder in New Zealand" is set to begin, and fans in Germany are eagerly awaiting its return. The series, which has been airing since 2019, will start with the episode "A Deadly Party" on the First channel on 7th September at 9:45 PM.

In this episode, Detective Fern Sutherland, standing in for the missing chief investigator Mike Shepherd, leads the investigation into a double murder that occurred after a birthday party for twins Olivia and Fraser Robinson. The mother of the twins was found dead in a hot tub with a meter-long beer glass impaled in her.

The investigation takes an interesting turn as Sutherland delves into the conflicts that took place at the themed 70s motto party. A heated argument involving the good friend of the dead mother and a severe argument between the girlfriend of the dead mother and the mother herself become key details leading to the case's resolution.

Author Tim Balme brings back characters from previous films as witnesses and suspects in the seventh season. Fans can look forward to familiar faces and humorous references as the series unfolds.

While Shepherd is dealing with a personal case related to Tania Stokes, who is seriously ill and needs his help, she is not involved in the "A Deadly Party" case. Tania Stokes, a mysterious acquaintance of Shepherd, lives with her children in the witness protection program.

All witnesses at the party were heavily intoxicated, making their statements unreliable. However, Detective Sutherland discovers a key detail that leads to the solution of the case, solving it in a style similar to Neill Rea's chief inspector.

With the seventh season of Brokenwood - Murder in New Zealand promising more suspense, humour, and intrigue, viewers are in for a treat. Tune in to the First channel on 7th September at 9:45 PM to catch the start of the new season.
