Day 1 at PartyPoker Million Sochi: First Champion Crowned
We kick off our coverage of the PartyPoker Million, an eleven-day poker festival held at the luxurious Sochi Casino and Resort. The scheduled events include 15 tournaments, cash games, parties, and more.
A Malaysian player, Ašuba Guram from Abkhazia, claimed the first title of the series in the short-handed tournament with bounties, attracting 213 entries.
During yesterday's action, over 15 tables were running cash games, ranging from 1/2 to 5/10, as well as a Chinese poker table. Despite the heavy traffic, there was no waiting list, with around 20 tables dedicated to games in this series and over 30 additional tables in use.
The Buffet restaurant within the casino offers a special menu for players.
Today, attendees can look forward to the Russian Poker Championship, Day 1A and the High Roller, Day 1:
- Russian Poker Championship, Day 1A: A buy-in of $550 with a guarantee of $250,000. The tournament starts at 13:00.
- High Roller, Day 1:A $3,300 buy-in with a guarantee of $100,000. The tournament begins at 21:00.
